When it comes to constructing durable, efficient, and versatile buildings, we offer two basic structural flooring system options and single flexible roof substrate to suit project requirements.

Up to

80% Lighter

than traditional construction.

Metek Building System 170mm Concrete Decking

Our concrete decking system consists of profiled steel decking topped with structural concrete to create a shallow solid floor.

Key Benefits

  • Thinner floor construction than steel joists; typically 170mm depth
  • Profiled steel decking acts as permanent shuttering for in-situ concrete
  • Excellent acoustic performance
  • Fire resisting up to 120 minutes without soffit treatment. Reduces the requirement for multiple layers of plasterboard and resilient bar used in steel joisted floors.
  • B rated under BRE green guide
  • Water impermeable
  • Mesh and rebar reinforced concrete
  • ‘Pull-float’ type U2 finish
Metek Building System 250mm Steel Joisted

Our steel joisted floors uses lightweight steel C sections joists spanning horizontally between Metek walls then boarded with a timber deck.

Key Benefits

  • Lightweight, up to 80% lighter than traditional construction
  • Dry, stable, light weight construction, no wet trades
  • Service integration within the cavity
  • Robust Standard Details available for Acoustics
  • Eliminates the requirement for propping
  • Steel joists typically 250mm deep
  • Fire performance provided by fire resistant plasterboard
  • A rated under BRE green guide
  • Future adaptable for Lifetime homes compliance
  • Erection not weather dependant
  • C sections eliminate the risk of ‘squeak’ in steel lattice beam construction
  • OSB/3 deck for floor joists, water resistant ply sheathing for roofs or SR30 decking sheets to reduce combustibility
  • Greater spans possible than with composite concrete
  • Faster construction compared with composite concrete floors

Metek Building System Roof decking

Our roof decking consists of lightweight steel C-section joists spanning between walls, topped with a timber deck or SR30 decking sheets. It is compatible with warm roof and inverted roof systems, including single ply, bituminous, and cold liquid applications. The design supports private or communal terraces, brown, green, and blue roof treatments. The open structure also enables “hybrid” thermal insulation strategies, using the cavity between joists to enhance thermal performance compared to traditional roof decks.

Key Benefits

  • Lightweight, up to 80% lighter than traditional construction
  • Dimensionally stable
  • Service integration within the cavity
  • A rated under BRE green guide
  • Compatible with Green, Brown & Blue roof systems
  • Erection not weather dependant
