Metek fully participated in early design workshop, logistics workshops and detailed planning exercises. Everything was done on a back-to-back basis and not only did that help us to secure the work, it was immeasurable in its contribution to the smooth running of the Project to date.
When problems arose, whether design, quality, Health and Safety or programming, that environment of working together has enabled us all to discuss and implement the best solutions for the Project and not just for the individual companies where that challenge may have arisen.
Working with Metek has been a positive experience. I don’t believe we would have a better process or end product using anyone else within the industry for the structural solution.

Metek are delivering for us at Banstead Road, and although I could write pages of testimony on how & what they have done, I can sum it up in four words.
‘Pride’ ‘Passion’ ‘Integrity’ ‘Partner’

The Waterfront project was a build where early engagement was key in delivering significant efficiencies in overall project cost and buildability. This also enabled the project team to design out details requiring complex solutions whilst still achieving the overall intent. Moreover, our project team had never delivered a light steel frame structure before, we were able to spend time with the Metek team on best practice and solving potential problems long before they arrived on site.

Metek were engaged to construct a 10 Storey apartment block at Heaps Mill consisting of 104no. apartments. The LGS frame commenced at Level 1 from a podium slab structure to roof level. Coordination of the design with all trades was critical and Metek’s design team worked in conjunction with the Architect / M+E / Fire / Acoustic consultants to ensure the correct solutions. Logistically, space on site was restricted with existing buildings in close proximity on three elevations and a public access road on the latter. Just in time delivery of materials was critical to ensure the success of the project. Metek’s site team were well organised, reliable and efficient in ensuring delivery of materials and the successful erection of the structure.

Metek provided a key sub-contractor relationship in the delivery of this residential scheme for Winchester Council. One of the key drivers for Wates was to reduce energy use and carbon emissions, so to use the Metek offsite system along with their sustainable credentials added value to our build. Their contribution to the air tightness criteria was invaluable and we look forward to working with them again. The Fire, acoustic and air test results exceeded all of the clients’ expectations. Oliver and I have built a great relationship, and I look forward to working with him and his team for many years to come.

The Lansdowne Road project marks the first opportunity I have had to collaborate with Metek. From the outset, strong working relationships were established, which seamlessly carried through into the construction phase. Adam and his team were exemplary in their on-site management and communication.
Challenges encountered during the project were addressed collaboratively, with effective communication between the teams contributing significantly to the successful completion of the programme.
I look forward to future opportunities to work with Metek and to further developing the positive relationships that have already been established.
