Hafod has selected Lovell as their partner to develop 106 new, energy efficient homes off Sanatorium Road, including 44 two, three and four-bedroom houses and 62 one and two-bedroom apartments split over three blocks. 38 of the new homes will be delivered for Cardiff Council as part of its drive to deliver its council-owned development programme, and the remaining properties will be managed by Hafod.
Lovell Partnerships won the building contract due to its reputation for delivering high-quality homes whilst adhering to robust health and safety standards. Construction work is due to commence in October 2022. The £24 million project will form part of Cardiff Council’s ambitious housing development programme to deliver 4,000 new homes over the next eight years.
Following previous successful schemes with Lovell Partnerships, Metek have been appointed as the sub contractor to deliver the 62 apartments and these have been split into 3 blocks (B, E & H).
All the external frames will be pre-boarded off site at Metek’s manufacturing facility (Advanced Cold Formed Sections (ACFS) in Wolverhampton), along with the roof cassettes and delivered to site for rapid on-site installation.

The Lansdowne Road project marks the first opportunity I have had to collaborate with Metek. From the outset, strong working relationships were established, which seamlessly carried through into the construction phase. Adam and his team were exemplary in their on-site management and communication.
Challenges encountered during the project were addressed collaboratively, with effective communication between the teams contributing significantly to the successful completion of the programme.
I look forward to future opportunities to work with Metek and to further developing the positive relationships that have already been established.
