Teams brave the icy waters to raise funds for East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
A team from Metek accompanied by colleagues from WW Martin stripped down to their matching swim shorts to brave the choppy waters at Dover beach in the week leading up to the Christmas break!
The teams, who are currently working together on a major student accommodation project in Canterbury, first came up with the idea back in the summer.
Jay Bartling, Senior Contracts Manager at WW Martin, and Oliver Rogan, Managing Director of Metek, set each other a friendly ‘chilly challenge’ – if both teams hit their targets on the Giles Lane Project, they would take a dip in the sea, which is close to WW Martin’s head office in Dover.
What began as a fun wager quickly escalated, and when the pair finally took the plunge, they were joined by the entire project team!
The team have now smashed their initial £500 target with pledges still coming in.
Having worked closely with the team at EKHUFT over the years, Jay xxx said the team were all very aware of the life-changing impact of their work across Kent. In recent months, the teams also supported the refurbishment of the QEQM Hospital in Margate, helping to improve facilities and expand clinical care for one of the busiest hospitals in the South East.
